Steel enclosures for grid-scale and C&I battery energy storage systems.
A BESS enclosure has to hold its coating, its seals and its fire strategy for years in the environment it stands in — coastal, industrial or high-ambient — while giving the integrator predictable access for racks, cabling and thermal management.

Standards for this segment
Engineered to. Not implied.
| Standard | Scope | Status |
|---|---|---|
| IEC 62933 | Electrical energy storage systems | Design reference — enclosure requirements of the standard addressed; system compliance sits with the integrator |
| IEC 62619 | Safety of secondary lithium cells and batteries | Customer scope — cell and battery-system certification sits with the integrator; enclosure provisions coordinated to it |
| UL 9540 / NFPA 855 | ESS safety and installation context | Design reference — enclosure provisions designed with reference to; system listing sits with the integrator |
| ISO 12944 C5M | High-corrosivity marine coating system | Engineered to |
| EN 1090 / ISO 3834 | Structural steelwork and welding quality | Engineered to |
| ISO 668 / ISO 1496 | Dimensions, ratings and structural testing (ISO Series 1 format) | Engineered to — ISO 1496-1 type approval in progress |
Certification scope is confirmed per customer requirement at order stage.
Engineering notes
What we've actually thought about here
- Fire barrier partitioning is designed around your chosen suppression system and cell chemistry, not retrofitted after the shell is built.
- Cable entry and gland layout is agreed against your PCS and switchgear drawings before fabrication starts, not standardised across projects.
- Every enclosure leaves the paint line with the coating grade specified — C5M as standard — regardless of order size. A coastal site does not get a lighter spec because the order was small.
